At Evangel, we aspire to be “a safe place for everyone to explore faith in Jesus, receive His love, and look more and more like Him each day.”

We live with eyes wide open, anticipating God’s presence and delighting in His goodness all around us. From His gifts in creation to His image in people, we celebrate with joy, recognizing His hand in every moment.

For the One

We follow Jesus’ example by seeing and loving the one in front of us, knowing that every person matters. For God so loved Powell River - and so do we.

Rhythm

We rebel against a culture of anxiety and exhaustion, choosing to rest deeply in God’s love. Our default posture is trust, deferring to the pace and leading of the Spirit. God sustains and provides for all things, freeing us from the pressure to make His ministry dependent on our own efforts. So we live and lead from a place of peace, grounded in grace, moving in step with the unhurried rhythms of His Kingdom.

Family

We recognize that every person in the family of God has intrinsic value and purpose in the life of His Body. We are called to grow together, spurring one another on in faith, as each member plays a vital role in the life of our church.

Like a healthy, thriving family, we embrace both giving and receiving—knowing that true community is built when every generation walks together in faith, learning from and strengthening one another. We celebrate the beauty of intergenerational relationships, where wisdom is shared, gifts are nurtured, and every person is valued in God’s design.

The Unnamed Value

We accept the invitation—God’s gracious call to come close—and respond with our whole selves, as deep calls to deep.

Rather than hiding, we draw near as He draws near, uncovering our hearts in His presence. We come with honesty and need, confident that He meets us with love. With a faith that longs not just to know, but to encounter, we say yes to His presence, yes to His voice, yes to the Spirit moving among us. At all times and in all things, we choose nearness—yielding, waiting, and saying yes to Jesus.
